United Christian Medical Service Nursery School was established in 1993 and is a non-profit kindergarten affiliated to one of the enterprises under Hong Kong Christian Service. Our school possesses a beautiful campus with a spacious playground of over a 1,000-square-foot garden playground, a parent-child nursery, an outdoor reading area and a multi-purpose art room for children to flourish and learn in a natural environment.

 

Our school believes in whole-person development of children which empower them to attain balanced, all-round development. Through a systematic and integrated curriculum, we use project-based learning and theme-based teaching to boost our children’s enthusiasm for learning and developing healthy living habits, a spirit of discovery and critical thinking. We focus on children’s language acquisition and creative arts development. To cope with our teaching, we arrange visits, talks with experts and parent-child activities to encourage children’s self-determination and mastery of knowledge through practice and experience, and to fully unlock their problem-solving skills and creativity potential.

 

Our school emphasizes cultivating positive thinking of children and value collaboration with families, complemented by activities which promote Chinese culture to facilitate their overall development. We implement the Montessori teaching method, featuring Montessori classrooms. It allows children to experience harmonious relationships in a mixed-age learning environment. They can freely participate according to their own pace, interests, and abilities. They enjoy the joy of learning while developing autonomy, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility.

 

Additionally, we leverage our environmental advantages to promote environmental education. We have been highly recognized for its implementation and commitment to environmental education and was awarded the “9th Schools Go Green Award – Environmental Education” and “11th Schools Go Green Award – Basic Environmental Advice and Parental Involvement in Environmental Activities”. These awards affirm our success in establishing an excellent learning community through comprehensive environmental activities. In 2009, our school passed the EDB’s Quality Review. In 2023, we also passed the EDB’s focus inspection and won the EDB’s high recognition and praise.
